About Jim Arciero

State Representative James “Jim” Arciero has proudly been serving the 2nd Middlesex District
in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 2009, representing the towns of Chelmsford (Precincts 3B, 4 and 5A), Littleton and Westford.

Jim currently serves as the House Chair of the Joint Committee on Transportation and was appointed to that role by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2025.

In 2021, he was appointed the House Chair of the Joint Committee on Housing in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. He navigated the housing crisis to eventually lead the passage of the Affordable Homes Act in 2024, the Commonwealth’s largest investment in housing in the state’s history (over $5 billion). He led the committee as they addressed housing issues across the state including increased housing production, stability, affordability, rental assistance and combating homelessness.

Prior to serving as a House Chair, he previously served as: Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Higher Education and Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Export Development.

Jim has a proven track record of supporting: increased education funding for K-12 and vocational schools; ensured access to reproductive health care and mental health services; increased benefits for veterans and their families; and green policies for environmental health and justice for future generations.

Jim earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.  He is a proud graduate of Westford Academy and recipient of the Eagle Scout Award, the highest award in scouting.   

He has been a lifelong resident of Westford, Massachusetts where he currently lives with his wife, Bridget, and daughter, Angelina.  He is an avid record collector and enjoys sharing his love for movies and basketball with his daughter.
