CHELMSFORD — Westford’s state representative James Arciero and the Chelmsford delegation announced that Junie’s Place was awarded $25,000 dollars in funding on Dec. 16, in order to support its work providing no-cost grief support services to families who have experienced the loss of a child, infant, pregnancy, or stillbirth.
Junie’s Place is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that no family has to navigate grief alone.
Founded by Dr. Kristen Dillon of Chelmsford, Junie’s Place offers free counseling, peer support, educational resources, and specialized programs tailored to the unique needs of grieving families, while also advancing grief-informed healthcare, education, and advocacy.
Arciero said the 25,000 dollar funding will help Junie’s Place continue to provide a safe, nurturing environment where families can find solace and support, honor the memory of their children, and begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.
Additionally, Arciero said the funding will also strengthen Junie’s Place’s efforts to train professionals, promote grief-informed policies such as bereavement leave, and work to shift cultural attitudes around loss.
