LITTLETON — State Rep. James Arciero has been awarded the 2021 Massachusetts Water Works Legislator of the Year Award from the Chelmsford, Littleton and Westford water departments.
Arciero received the award at the annual meeting of the Massachusetts Water Works Association last month.
“I’m honored to receive the 2021 Massachusetts Water Works Legislator of the Year Award this year,” he said in a statement. “Keeping our water sources and environments safe and sustainable for our communities is of the upmost importance as we continue to combat climate change.”
Arciero has filed multiple bills to improve water infrastructure in his district, including one that would strengthen regulation of on-site sewage disposal systems by local boards of health. He has also supported bills that deal with contamination in public water systems and comprehensive management of the state’s water resources within its river basins.
“The Massachusetts House of Representatives has made clean water and energy a priority for the commonwealth as clean water supplies are vital to a safe community,” he said.
